Tier #1 Super Elite

1) Kyle Larson – Martin Truex Jr. dominated this spring at Darlington, but when it was closing time, Kyle Larson was hot on his heels despite having to overcome a pit road penalty. Larson has never won at Darlington, but he has back to back runner-ups and in 4 of the last 5 races here he’s finished in the top 3. This year at high-wear intermediate tracks, Larson ranks #1 in terms of Total Speed Rankings.

2) Martin Truex Jr. – Earlier this year at Darlington, Martin Truex put on a display of domination. He won the race, swept the opening Stages, earned a perfect driver rating, was the fastest driver late in a run and he fielded the fastest car over the four segments of the race. Last fall, Truex also likely would’ve won if he didn’t crash while he was in the process of passing Chase Elliott for the lead.

3) Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch has been elite at Darlington. Since 2017 minus race #1 last year where he had problems, he’s finished in the top 7 every race and has a 4.0 average finish. This spring, Busch finished 3rd which is impressive when you consider he had to overcome an early spin while leading! Over the last three races at high-wear intermediates, Kyle Busch has a 3.3 average finish.
