William Byron started in 4th and he led the opening lap.
Big: Kyle Larson had engine problems right when the race started. His water temperature was spiking. He only completed 3 laps. He had a packing piece in front of his radiator which wasn’t removed pre-race.
On lap 2, Joey Logano took command of the lead and then led the next 10 laps.
On lap 5, Bubba Wallace who started in the back was up +30 positions.
On lap 12, Bubba Wallace moved into the lead.

- During the competition caution, Harrison Burton got a pit penalty for equipment leaving his pit box.
- During the competition caution, Martin Truex got a speeding penalty.
- During the competition caution, Ryan Preece got a pit penalty because his crew went over the wall too soon.

Big: On the last lap of Stage #1, Joey Logano was who in third was flipped after contact with Hamlin. Both Stenhouse had Bubba Wallace got notable damage from the incident.

On lap 84, all the Chevy’s came to pit road.
Notable: During the All Chevy pit stop, Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain both got speeding penalties. Both of them had to serve a pass thru penalty.
Chase Elliott didn’t keep up with the Chevy pack so he got lapped. He had an 11 second two tire pit stop which got him in trouble.
On lap 91, Ford’s came to pit road in mass.
Notable: During the Ford’s pit stop, both Kevin Harvick and Chris Buescher were caught speeding.
On lap 92, Toyota’s all came to pit road.
Notable: Denny Hamlin was penalized speeding come to pit road. When Hamlin came into serve his penalty, he was caught speeding again.

Big: Kurt Busch’s car was really smoking on lap 104 and it brought out a caution. Busch was running in the top five prior to his problem. Busch had an oil line loose.

Big: On the last lap of Stage #2, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex, Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman and William Byron were all involved in an accident. Everybody but Hamlin at the time was competing for a top ten.
