Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Texas
Kevin Harvick – How good was Kevin Harvick last fall at Texas? Pretty good and perhaps he had the best car, but as you can guess since he’s in this post, his race wasn’t incident free. In the race, Harvick started on the pole and led the first 28 laps, but then on lap 29 while leading he slapped the wall hard in the wet conditions which led to an unexpected pit stop. Harvick battled back and climbed as high as 6th, but then in the final Stage he started to really struggle in the turns which led to his 16th place finish.
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott didn’t have an incident free race last fall at Texas and finished an asterisk mark 20th. While he was running around 7th on lap 201 during green flag pit stops, Elliott made a second pit stop after just pitting because of a tire issue.
Chris Buescher – Chris Buescher was the first victim of the wet conditions last fall at Texas and on lap 5 he crashed into the wall hard and brought out the first caution. Buescher didn’t call it a race though and he continued to limp around the track which led to his 34th. Since his problem happened so early, its hard to say just how good he was.
Bubba Wallace – Bubba Wallace had a short race last fall at Texas and finished 38th. On lap 59 which was shortly after the race restarted on Wednesday, Matt Kenseth spun off the nose of Denny Hamlin and then crashed into him which marked the end of his race. Right around the time of his demise he was running around 20th.
