Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Auto Club (2020)
Martin Truex Jr. – In 2020 at Auto Club, Martin Truex Jr. was a top five contender, but he finished a misleading 14th. In the race, Truex started in 38th, finished just outside the top ten in Stage #1, finished 5th in Stage #2 and then climbed up to 2nd on lap 161, but at that time he had a slow pit stop after a hand injury to one of his crewmen that dropped him in the running order and led to his asterisk mark result.
Ryan Blaney – At Auto Club in 2020, Ryan Blaney had a great car, but he finished an asterisk mark 19th. In the race, Blaney finished 2nd in Stage #1, won Stage #2, led 54 laps and had the 2nd best Total Speed Ranking. On lap 193, Blaney first reported having tire concerns, and then with 3 laps to go he pitted from 2nd because of his tire problem.
Kyle Larson – In 2020 at Auto Club, Kyle Larson likely had a great car (#42), but he finished a misleading 21st. On lap 27, Larson was running in 6th, but than a few laps later he had contact with Hamlin and slammed into the wall which ruined his competitive afternoon.
