Atlanta Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions

Noah Gragson – At Atlanta, Noah Gragson will make his #16 Kaulig Racing debut. In a race like this that is full of uncertainty, I think Gragson has a ton of upside, if he can avoid trouble and be around at the end. Gragson shown potential in the season opening Daytona 500 in the #62 before wrecking late, and he’s on a hot streak in the Xfinity series where heading into the weekend he’s fresh off a win at Phoenix and he’s finished in the top 3 every race. Also, don’t overlook the fact that come Sunday, he’ll already have a race at the new Atlanta under his belt.

Harrison Burton – 2022 has been a brutal year for Harrison Burton and in 3 of the 4 races he’s finished 29th or worse. That said, in the two races where I think the level of correlation are the highest have been his two best, so that’s encouraging. At Las Vegas, Burton had his lone respectable result of the season and finished 16th. That said, his average running position in that event was 22.5 and his Total Speed Ranking was the 29th best. At Daytona earlier this year, Burton looked extremely racy. He finished 3rd in his Duel 150 and then in the Daytona 500 he led 3 laps but was wrecked while running near the front by Keselowski.

Todd Gilliland – This year on the track minus Daytona, Todd Gilliland is 3 for 3 at finishing between 19th to 23rd. At the two intermediates visited this year, Gilliland has results of 20th (Auto Club) and 23rd (Las Vegas) and his combined Total Speed Ranking between the two is the 30th best. In the Daytona 500 earlier this year, Gilliland finished 3rd in Stage #1, 10th in Stage #2 but then late in the race he crashed which led to his 33rd. With 13 laps to go which was shortly before his demise he was running in 5th.
