Bristol Dirt Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kyle Larson
Bristol Dirt Bottom Line – At Bristol Dirt, the road to victory lane will likely go thru Kyle Larson. Larson’s the premiere dirt track racer in America, and last year I think there’s a great chance he had the field covered until he was collected in a wreck while running in the top five. Larson also has one advantage on the field, he’s already raced at Bristol Dirt this year in a modified car. On Sunday, look for Larson to finish in the top five and compete for the win.
Bristol Dirt 2021 – Last year at Bristol Dirt, Kyle Larson looked phenomenal, until he crashed. In the race, Larson started in the rear of the field, but he had no trouble racing his way up thru the running order. On lap 54 while he was running the high-line and all the way up to 5th, Christopher Bell spun and then Larson nailed him which essentially ended his competitive afternoon. In the first segment of the race, Larson’s Total Speed Ranking was the 4th best, and that’s super impressive when you take into account he had to drive up thru the field in traffic. Larson was able to continue in a wounded #5, but then later to add insult to injury he further damaged his car after contact with Suarez who was lapping him. When the checkered flag waved, Larson finished 29th.
Christopher Bell
Bristol Dirt Bottom Line – Christopher Bell will be a driver to be reckoned with at Bristol Dirt. Bell is without question one of the best on the dirt, and if he didn’t wreck last year, Bell was poised to be a factor. On Sunday, look for Bell to finish in the top five and compete for the win.
Bristol Dirt 2021 – Last year at Bristol Dirt, Christopher Bell looked strong but finished a clunker 34th. In the race, Bell started in 15th but had no trouble advancing in the running order. Bell managed to race all the way up to 2nd, but then on lap 54 he spun and was then nailed by Kyle Larson which was a knockout blow for his afternoon. In terms of his segment #1 speed, Bell fielded the 5th fastest car on the track. If Bell’s race would’ve been incident free, it’s more than clear he was going to be tough to beat.
William Byron
Bristol Dirt Bottom Line – William Byron is a quick learner, and last year on the dirt he looked great despite his dirt racing resume being blank. Byron had one big plus in his column though, and that’s his crew chief Randy Fugle who comes from a dirt racing background. The learning curve will be steep again this weekend with a new car, but I think he’ll be solid. On Sunday, I would view Byron as a solid top ten contender.
Bristol Dirt 2021 – Last year on the dirt, William Byron had a strong showing. In the race, Byron finished 2nd in Stage #1, finished 6th overall, had a 4.9 average running position and his driver rating ranked as the 5th best. Additionally, Byron was the 6th Fastest Driver Late In A Run and his Total Speed Ranking was the 4th best. To further break down his speed over the segments, Byron had speed rankings of 3rd, 2nd, 6th and 8th.
