The Low Tier – Bristol Dirt
JJ Yeley – JJ Yeley has an extensive dirt racing background and would look like a general in uniform with all his dirt accolades, but he’s also driving the #15, and I don’t think there’s a chance he’ll be competitive in that ride. Last year at Bristol Dirt, Yeley finished 28th and had a 28.6 average running position.
Cody Ware – If you’ve seen Cody Ware on pavement, now buckle up and get ready to see him on dirt! Last year, things weren’t pretty and in the inaugural race at Bristol Dirt, Ware finished 32nd and had a 32.9 average running position.
Josh Williams – Josh Williams is a dirt track ringer, but he’s driving the #78 and is making his Cup debut. Dirt track ringers are just as effective as road course ringers being brought in, so I have basement level expectations. Last year among the dirt track ringers brought in (who aren’t already in a NASCAR national series), JJ Yeley was the highest finisher (28th) and the rest of them finished in the 30’s.
