Bristol Dirt NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson looked really smooth driving the high-line 15 minutes into practice. At the time, Larson had the best 20 lap average. Larson brushed the wall about 20 minutes into practice. 25 minutes into practice after running 34 laps he said, “I feel my right front tire is working, the drive off is pretty good.” “Much better.” His team told him that his pace is nearly untouchable. 35 minutes into practice, Kyle Larson got into the wall. After getting into the wall, he said his steering wheel is out of alignment and points to the right after contact with the wall. Larson said his car was much better this practice then last practice.

Denny Hamlin – At the start of practice, Denny Hamlin jumped to the top of the speed chart. Hamlin said his team did a really good job between practices. He liked his car. He felt good about his car over short runs and long runs.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – In a pre-practice interview, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. told Regan Smith he wanted his car to connect in the corners better. Ten minutes into practice, Stenhouse’s team reported that he could use some drive off the corners. 35 minutes into practice on 49 lap old tires, his team told him, “That’s a good lap time.” 40 minutes into practice, Stenhouse reported that his car is loose. Late in practice, Stenhouse got into the wall.
Todd Gilliland – Todd Gilliland was sporty. Clint Bowyer liked how he looked. 30 minutes into practice he had the best 30 lap average. At the end of practice, Gilliland had the 5th best 20 lap average.
Ty Dillon – Five minutes into practice, Ty Dillon spun. He didn’t hit anything. Dillon had respectable lap times into a run.
