Dover Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Daniel Suarez
Dover Fantasy Spin – Daniel Suarez should definitely be on your radar at Dover. The Monster Mile is arguably Suarez’s best track and minus 2020 where he drove the ultra-uncompetitive #96, he has an 8.7 average finish and he’s had a result in the top 14 every race. On Sunday, I’m going to view Suarez as a top ten contender.
Dover Track History – Daniel Suarez has performed at a high-level at Dover. Last year, Suarez had one of his best afternoons of the 2021 season. In the race, Suarez finished 9th, had a 14.3 average running position, had the 16th best Total Speed Ranking and take note that over the final 100 laps, Suarez had the 10th fastest car on the track. In 2020 in the junk #96, Suarez had clunker results of 28th and 30th. In 2019 when Suarez piloted the #41, he was solid and came home with results of 11th and 14th. In JGR equipment at Dover, Suarez was 4 for 4 at finishing in the top ten and his results were 10th, 3rd, 8th and 6th.
Chase Briscoe
Dover Fantasy Spin – Chase Briscoe should be on your radar at Dover. Briscoe had a tough 2021 at the “Monster Mile”, but with the way the #14 has been running this year, I think he should have a solid showing. On Sunday, I’m going to view Briscoe as a low double-digit to mid-teens driver who has a good chance to compete for a top ten.
Dover Track History – Last year at Dover, Briscoe had a tough afternoon. On the last lap of Stage #1 while he was running in 19th and trying to stay on the lead lap, he drove too hard into the corner and slammed into the wall hard. The damage was heavy, and it doomed him to a 35th place finish.
Kurt Busch
Dover Fantasy Spin – Kurt Busch is a former “Monster Mile” winner (2011) who’s consistently run well over the last few years. Since 2018 minus 2020 Race #1 where he crashed near the start, Busch has a 9.7 average finish, an 11.0 average running position and he’s had a result in the top 13 every race. On Sunday, I’m going to view Busch as a low double-digit driver who has a good chance to finish in the top ten.
Dover Track History – Kurt Busch has consistently run well at Dover in recent races, and as you read above since 2018 minus 2020 Race #1 where he crashed near the start his average finish is 9.7. I’ll note, in 4 of the last 5 he’s finished between 9th to 13th. Last year, Busch finished 7th in Stage #2, 13th overall, had a 12th place average running position and had the 11th best Total Speed Ranking. In 2020 Race #2, Busch ran well despite starting deep in the field in 28th. In the race, Busch drove up through the field at a steady pace and finished 9th at the end of Stage #1. When the checkered flag waved, Busch finished 13th, had a 12.3 average running position and had the 15th best Total Speed Ranking. In race #1 2020, Busch completed 6 laps before crashing so absolutely no fantasy lessons were learned. In 2019, Busch had results of 9th and 13th. In 2018, Busch had a pair of 5th’s.
