Dover Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Bubba Wallace
Dover Fantasy Spin – At Dover, Bubba Wallace might have potential based on him having a solid performance last year, but it’s definitely an outside shot at him running well. Based on the way he’s typically performed this year; I would view Wallace as a high-teens to low-twenties driver who has a little bit of upside.
Dover Track History – At Dover, Bubba Wallace has finished in the 20’s in 6 of his 7 starts. There is a bright spot though, and that was last year where he bucked that bad finish trend. In 2021, Wallace finished 11th, had a 14.7 average running position and had the 17th best Total Speed Ranking. In his six Dover races prior to that, he finished in the 20’s every single race, and I would just accept those as clunker results.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Dover Fantasy Spin – With the way Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has finished this year, I have low expectations for him this weekend. That said, he hasn’t been all that bad recently, but he also hasn’t been all that good. In 4 of the last 7 races here he’s finished between 9th to 16th. With how 2022 has gone for him, I would view him as a 20’s performer who has a good amount of upside.
Dover Track History – Last year, Stenhouse didn’t have a race to brag about and when it reached its conclusion, Stenhouse finished 20th and had a 19.7 average running position. In 2020, Stenhouse was great in race #1, but didn’t get to show his hand in race #2. In 2020 in race #2, Stenhouse wrecked on lap 7 and that doomed him to a 37th place finish. In race #1 2020, Stenhouse ran well. In the race he finished 10th, had a 12.0 average running position, finished 9th in Stage #2 and had the 14th best Total Speed Ranking.
Harrison Burton
Dover Fantasy Spin – This year at regular ovals, Harrison Burton hasn’t exactly been doing anything good. That said, he hasn’t been that bad. At the “Monster Mile”, I would view Burton as a high-teens to mid-twenties driver. In 2022 in incident free races, Burton’s basically finished within that finish range in every event.
Dover Track History – In the Xfinity Series at Dover, Harrison Burton has been solid. Burton crashed in his first race back in 2019 right at the start, but over the last three his average finish is 7.3. Last year in the lower series, Burton finished 6th. In 2020 when the series did the double, Burton had results of 5th and 11th.
