The Low Tier – Dover
Ryan Preece – Ryan Preece is making his 2022 debut driving the Rick Ware Racing #15. Rick Ware Racing has had an alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing all season, but has it helped any? Now that a SHR contract driver will be behind the wheel, perhaps they might provide more meaningful assistance so there is potential he has upside. That said, I would just play it safe and view him as a 20’s performer, who might be able to finish marginally better. For Dover, the car was assembled by Rick Ware Racing.
Cody Ware – At Dover, Cody Ware is 3 for 3 at finishing in the 30’s and I doubt that trend will end. Last year, Ware finished 13 laps down in 31st. In his two starts prior to that his results were 34th (2019 #1) and 35th (2017 #1). In 2022 at non-conventional ovals (not dirt or superspeedways), Ware has a 31.6 average finish.
Josh Bilicki – At Dover, Josh Bilicki has been consistent and he’s 3 for 3 at finishing between 32nd to 34th. Last year, Bilicki finished 19 laps down in 34th. In 2020 during the double, Bilicki had back-to-back 32nd’s.
BJ McLeod – BJ McLeod was pretty bad before, but now he might be marginally worse following suspensions from his lost wheel at Talladega. At Dover, McLeod has a best finish of 29th, and in his six other starts he’s finished in the 30’s. Last year, the #78’s afternoon ended early due to an engine problem, and he finished 36th. In 2020, McLeod finished 31st in race #2 and 38th in race #1 (handling DNF). In 2022 at non-conventional ovals (not dirt or superspeedways), McLeod has a 30.6 average finish.
