Big: On lap 16 while running in 6th, Alex Bowman had a right front tire go down and got into the wall. Bowman had quite a bit of damage. William Byron clipped him at this time, and the #24 got some notable right-side damage.

On lap 25, the competition caution came out.
Notable: On pit road during the competition caution, Chase Elliott hit a tire from a tire carrier of another team, and it caused some damage to the #9. Elliott then had to make a second pit stop for repair.
Big: On lap 30 shortly after a restart, Michael McDowell who was running around the mid-teens crashed. This was a knockout blow.

Big: On lap 125, Kyle Busch had contact with Austin Dillon and got into the wall hard. They were battling for 12th at the time. It brought out a caution and Busch took his car to the garage.
In a post-wreck interview, Kyle Busch said he didn’t like his car and it was terrible.

Notable: On lap 158 under green, Chase Elliott messed up coming to pit road and had to make an extra slow lap around the track to come in. He was in 9th at the time.
Notable: During a green flag pit cycle on lap 162, Martin Truex Jr. told his team he had a loose wheel. Fortunately for him, the caution came out for debris. Christopher Bell hit the debris and got some slight damage.
Notable: During the debris caution, Bell, Hamlin and Truex came to pit road. Most of the field stayed out since a green flag pit cycle just ensued. Truex pitted earlier so he couldn’t take the wave around, so he was now a lap down.
