The Low Tier – Darlington
Landon Cassill – At Darlington, Landon Cassill will be piloting the #77. Realistically, I think he’s a high-twenties performer, who might become a mid-twenties finisher if the attrition rate spikes. At Darlington over his last six Cup starts, Cassill’s average finish is 30.2. In 2019 when he most recently raced here, Cassill finished 25th.
JJ Yeley – At Darlington, JJ Yeley will be piloting the #15 of Rick Ware Racing. On Sunday, I would look for him to likely finish around 30th. Over his last six Cup races at “The Track Too Tough To Tame”, he’s finished between 28th to 32nd. Last year, Yeley competed in both races and had results of 29th and 30th.
BJ McLeod – At Darlington, look for McLeod to be a high-twenties to low-thirties driver. Last year, McLeod had results of 27th (fall) and 32nd (spring). I’ll note, McLeod has had problems finishing races recently and in 3 of his last 4 races he’s finished 34th or worse.
Cody Ware – I think the odds are high that Cody Ware will be a caution. Ware has three starts at “The Lady In Black”, and he’s crashed twice and had a drive shaft problem in the other. Last year, Ware finished 33rd in the fall (crash) and then 34th (drive train problem) in the spring.
