The Low Tier – New Hampshire
JJ Yeley – At New Hampshire, I think JJ Yeley is the top low-tier driver in the #15. That said, he’s a high-twenties to low-thirties driver. This year, Yeley hasn’t raced at any tracks that have correlation, other than Nashville but I think that’s a very loose level of correlation and he finished 28th there. In 2020 when he most recently raced at New Hampshire, Yeley finished 29th.
Josh Bilicki – Since April, Josh Bilicki hasn’t finished better than 28th, and at Gateway, the only shorter-flat track he’s raced at this year he finished 28th. Also at Gateway, Bilicki’s Total Speed Ranking was the 34th best. Last year at New Hampshire, Bilicki finished 34th. On Sunday, look for Bilicki to be a high-twenties to low-thirties driver. In 6 of his last 7 races heading into the weekend, Bilicki’s finished between 28th to 33rd.
Cody Ware – This year at shorter-flat tracks, Cody Ware ranks 33rd of 36 drivers in terms of Total Speed Rankings. In the results column, things have been bad and he’s 3 for 3 at finishing in the 30’s with his average finish being 34th, which is actually the worst among drivers in this post. Last year at New Hampshire, Ware finished 31st. On Sunday, I think Ware is a low 30’s driver who might be bumped up due to attrition.
BJ McLeod – The #78 car is the slowest in the field on a week-to-week basis, and at New Hampshire, I would look for that to be the case again. In 2022 over the races at shorter flat tracks, McLeod ranks as the slowest driver in each of the three racesĀ (Total Speed Rankings) and in the results column you’ll see finishes of 33rd (Phoenix), 34th (Richmond) and then 30th (Gateway). Last year at New Hampshire when the #78 team tried harder, McLeod finished 30th.
