Group A Practice Notes
William Byron – Early in practice after drivers had time to log 5 consecutive laps, William Byron ranked #1 for that speed statistic. William Byron ended practice #1 overall. His ten-lap average was the 3rd best.
Chase Briscoe – Chase Briscoe was logging good lap times early in Group A. Briscoe said he felt like he had a good car. He said his car kind of drives how he wants it. “I feel like I learned some things running behind Aric. I feel like our Ford drives pretty good. We will see.” Briscoe had the 2nd best 10 lap average.
Alex Bowman – Five minutes into practice while he was 13th his crew chief said, “Shift patterns look good, keep feeling out the track.” Ten minutes into practice while he was 12th in his group he said, “I feel like I need more wheel input, car just snaps through the turns.” His ten lap average was the 17th best.
Kyle Busch – The #18 was looked pretty strong this session. Busch had the best 10, 15 and 20 lap averages for group #1. Kyle Busch ended practice 2nd overall.
Austin Cindric – Austin Cindric was pretty low in Group #1 in terms of overall practice speed. The heights of his car were reported to be off. His ten lap average was the 19th best.
