Group A Practice Notes
Chase Briscoe – Chase Briscoe messed up in a turn early in practice. Late in practice, Briscoe locked up his right rear tire. He said he wasn’t where he needs to be. He’s doing double duty this weekend and racing in the Xfinity series and he mentioned the car differences were throwing him off. Briscoe’s overall lap speed ranked as the 13th best between the two groups.
Austin Cindric – The #2 looked fast. Five minutes into practice he was 2nd on the speed chart. Cindric ended the session as the fastest overall between both groups. Cindric didn’t make a 5-lap run.
Denny Hamlin – It was mentioned Hamlin was fighting inconsistency in braking zones. His 5-lap average was the 15th best.
Ross Chastain – Ross Chastain showed good speed once again. He ranked 4th between both groups. His 5-lap average was the 17th best, don’t hit the panic button about that.
Daniel Suarez – The #99 car showed speed in practice. Suarez ended the session in 2nd on the speed chart. His 5-lap average which was the 29th best is very skewed. Don’t read into it.
