Kyle Larson who started on the pole led the opening two laps. To start the race, Larson led 21 of the first 22 laps.
Notable: Martin Truex Jr. got some damage early and fell back rapidly near the start. He started 5th but fell back into the 30’s. He had some left rear damage. He told his team he was wrecking loose and was all over the place. He had contact with Kyle Busch. The 18 also got some damage, but it was light.

On lap 16, Kevin Harvick told his team that his car was terrible. He was in 13th at the time.

On lap 19 while running in 8th, William Byron recorded the fastest lap time on the track. Byron was really happy with his car.
Notable: During the competition caution after lap 20, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was shown to be making a second pit stop.
Notable: During the competition caution, Kyle Busch had a long pit stop as his team was making repairs to his nose. He had contact with Martin Truex Jr. This dropped him back to 32nd.
During the competition caution it was revealed that Denny Hamlin had communication problems with his team. During his pit stop, Hamlin didn’t get four tires or have any changes made. This led to a quick pit stop which got him the lead.

On lap 91, Tyler Reddick reported to his team that he had a vibration.

On lap 100, Kevin Harvick made a green flag pit stop. He said he didn’t have confidence to put any wheel into his car. It dropped him a lap down into the thirties. He was in 19th just prior to that. It was a about 5 to 10 laps earlier than others during the green flag pit cycle and it was planned.
During his green flag pit stop around lap 115, Kyle Busch took only two tires which got him the lead. Christopher Bell took two tires too about a lap later. Tyler Reddick didn’t take any tires which bumped him up into the top ten.

Big: On lap 117 it was mentioned that Ross Chastain’s car got pushed to the garage. On lap 99 prior to the green flag pit cycle taking place he was running in 25th.
Big: On lap 120, Austin Dillon and Brad Keselowski had contact. This totaled the #3. They were battling for 6th.
