Michigan NASCAR Practice Notes
Group A Practice Notes
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch unloaded fast. Busch ended the session #1 overall between both Groups. Busch had the 3rd best 5-lap average.
Denny Hamlin – The #11 car was strong early in practice and five minutes into the session he was 2nd, behind Kyle Busch. Ten minutes into practice, Hamlin said, “I really need help center-off.” Hamlin had the best 5,10 and 15 lap averages between both Groups.
Christopher Bell – The #20 was fast and in May, Bell tested here. In Group A, Bell had the 3rd best 5 lap average. When practice ended, Bell’s 5-lap average ranked 11th overall.
Justin Haley – Early in practice while he was 8th in Group A, Haley reported that his car was tight. This week, the #31 setup is said to be closer to Tyler Reddick’s setup. I’ll note, Haley’s speeds weren’t good and his 5-lap average was just the 27th best. His overall speed rank at the end was 25th.
Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick had good speed (in Group A) and started the session with a +15 lap run. Harvick ended the session with the 14th best 5-lap average and the 7th best 10 lap average.
