Richmond NASCAR Practice Notes
Group A Practice Notes
Martin Truex Jr. – The #19 car looked to have good speed over a run. Truex said his car was in decent shape. He said his car feels OK and the balance is close. He said the track is slick and it’s hard to find traction. He said his car feels in the ballpark. He said he was happier in this practice then he was in the spring.
Ross Chastain – Early in Group A, Ross Chastain was running the quick lap times which put him at the top of the speed chart. Chastain had the best 10 lap average of the group but then he really dropped off for 15 lap averages.
Aric Almirola – The #10 car was running sporty lap times in practice that were competitive. Late in practice he had the best 25 lap average. Almirola did an extremely long run so he should have a good feel for his car.
Chase Elliott – The #9 was fast over an extended run. Following his opening run, Chase said his car started off tight and then was good for a handful of laps before it started losing rear lateral grip.
Denny Hamlin – The #11 was logging quick lap times late in into a run. In the high 20’s lap count area he was arguably the fastest.
