Kansas #2 NASCAR Practice Notes
General Weather Note: This practice session was said to be significantly cooler than race temperatures for tomorrow.
Group A Practice Notes
*** ARCA rubber was said to be on the track early which made the track “Slimy.”
Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell was setting the quick lap times early in Group A practice. The #20 looks to be strong this weekend. Jeff Burton was impressed with Christopher Bell’s car. Bell never made a long run, but his 5-lap average was the 4th best overall.
Kyle Larson – The #5 was fast. Larson had the best 10,15 and 20 lap averages in Group A. Kyle Larson got slightly into the wall in practice. Nothing to worry about it. Larson said he felt really good in practice. He said his car has been good. Larson had the 3rd best 15-lap average between both groups.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. got into the wall late in practice. Dale Earnhardt Jr. thought he didn’t look comfortable with his car. He had a tire go down. Stenhouse said he was actually pretty happy with how his car was driving prior to getting into the wall.
Bubba Wallace – Bubba Wallace had really good speed at the start of Group A practice and was sitting in 2nd early. Wallace seemed optimistic about his car in an interview. Wallace had the 6th best 15-lap average.
Chris Buescher – The #17 showed up with speed. Ten minutes into practice he was 4th in the Group. At that time Buescher said, “Mainly just free. It lands and loads the right front, stays a little free.” Buescher said his car had good speed and they were in a good spot so far.
