Group A Practice Notes
Tyler Reddick – Early in Group A, Tyler Reddick was logging the last lap times in the group. Reddick started practice with a long +20 lap run to get a good feel for his car. The #8 was said to get tight towards the end of a run but it gets through the bumps pretty good. Reddick had the 3rd best ten lap average between both groups.
Kyle Larson – Towards the end of Group A practice, Larson said “Need more. Still too loose.” Larson felt like his team made decent adjustments in practice. He felt like his car has more speed but he wants more comfort. Larson had the 11th best 5-lap average.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano showed speed early in Group A practice. Logano had the best 5-lap average in Group A. In Turns 1/2, he’s tight and frees up late. In Turns 3/4, he’s loose over the bumps. Between both groups, Logano had the best 5 & 10 lap average.
Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski had some speed. Ten minutes into practice he had the 2nd best 5-lap average in the Group. “I feel like my balance here is pretty close.”
Denny Hamlin – Five minutes into practice, Denny Hamlin said his ride quality wasn’t very good. Late in practice Hamlin told his team he needs help in the turns. Hamlin never made a 5-lap run.
