Talladega Race Notes
Christopher Bell who started on the pole led the opening lap.
Landon Cassill had to come down pit road as an inspection penalty after the competition of the first lap. Cassill dropped a lap down pretty quickly as a result.
Five laps into the race, the field was still running 2-wide just like when the race started with nothing wild happening.

Big: On lap 32, Tyler Reddick came to pit road and his team popped up his hood. He was running around 25th prior to coming to pit road. Reddick told his team his engine was off pitch. This marked the end of his race.
Notable: On lap 34 during green flag pit stops, Cody Ware spun on entry to pit road. No caution came out.
Notable: Brad Keselowski was caught speeding on pit road on lap 34. This dropped him a lap down after serving his penalty.
Notable: Denny Hamlin had a slow pit stop during the opening round of green flag pit stops and had to back up.
Notable: Ross Chastain was caught speeding during the opening round of green flag pit stops. This dropped him a lap down after serving his penalty.

Notable: For some reason, Michael McDowell got lapped around lap 50. No problem was reported in the telecast so perhaps he made an unexpected pit stop or something. It wasn’t penalty related.

Big: On lap 56, Chris Buescher, Chase Briscoe and Daniel Hemric crashed. It marked the end of the race for all three. Hemric, who was around 10th had a sudden engine failure and he then spun up the track and nailed Briscoe and Buescher. This marked the end of Stage #1.

Notable: On lap 86 shortly after the race went green again following Biffle’s engine failure, BJ McLeod spun which brought out the caution again. McLeod lost a wheel.
Big: On lap 90 shortly after a restart, a “Big One” ensued. Joey Logano who was in 6th got into the wall after a bad push from Wallace. Others collected were Cindric, Suarez, Ty Dillon, Harrison Burton, Kyle Busch, Todd Gilliland, Cole Custer and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
