Talladega Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Tyler Reddick
Talladega Fantasy Spin – Tyler Reddick is worthy of fantasy consideration at Talladega and on Sunday, Reddick has nothing to lose and can race hard. At big superspeedways, Reddick has sort of a hero or zero attribute to him and in 4 of the last 8 races he’s finished in the top 7. In the four he didn’t finish in the top 7, things were really bad, and he finished 27th or worse every race. This year at big superspeedways, Reddick finished 2nd at Daytona #2 but in the other two races he DNF’ed and finished 35th or worse.
Talladega Track History – Tyler Reddick has shown potential at Talladega over his five starts, but I’ll note in 3 of them he’s finished 20th or worse. This spring, nobody had a shorter afternoon than Reddick and he finished last (38th) after an early engine failure. On lap 32 while running around 25th, he came to pit road having told his team his engine was off pitch, and he never returned to the track after that. Last fall at Talladega, Reddick looked racy, but he also crashed which led to his 39th. In the race, Reddick finished 5th in Stage #1 but then on lap 98 he was collected in the carnage which led to his demise. Prior to his problem, Reddick ran well and was clearly a top ten contender. In the two Talladega races prior to that, Reddick had back-to-back 7th’s.

Christopher Bell
Talladega Fantasy Spin – Christopher Bell has shown potential at superspeedways, but when it comes to finishing well, things haven’t always been great. That said, Bell typically runs up front on this track type and he’s shown potential in every race at a big superspeedway. Talladega has been a trouble spot for Christopher Bell and in 4 of his 5 races he’s finished 17th or worse.
Talladega Track History – Christopher Bell’s track record at Talladega is nothing to get excited about, but he’s shown potential. This spring, Bell finished 3rd in Stage #1, led 7 laps, had an 11.5 average running position but ended up finishing a clunker 22nd. On lap 153 which was shortly before a green flag pit cycle he was running in 9th, but then on lap 161 while leaving pit road, Bell got together with Kyle Busch and it sent him spinning into the inside wall with no caution coming out. Last fall, Bell had a strong showing. In the race he finished 5th in Stage #2, led 12 laps and then finished 5th when the checkered flag waved. In spring 2021, Bell finished 17th. That said, Bell finished 10th in Stage #1, 9th in Stage #2 and was running in 12th with 12 laps to go until the scheduled distance. In fall 2020, Bell crashed on lap 1 which led to his 39th place finish. His demise was a flat tire. In spring 2020 when he made his track debut he looked respectable but finished an asterisk mark 29th. In the race, Bell finished 5th in Stage #2, but with about 40 laps to go during a restart while he was battling for the lead, he was forced below the yellow line which dropped him back and he never rebounded.
Alex Bowman (ALERT! ALEX BOWMAN will miss Talladega due to concussion like symptoms. Noah Gragson will drive the #48)
Talladega Fantasy Spin – Alex Bowman has a hero or zero factor about him at Talladega. Since 2018, Bowman has 5 results in the top 14, and then in the other four he’s finished 33rd or worse. Over the last two races held at big superspeedways this year, Bowman has an 11.5 average finish. Bowman sort of has “Coin flip” value at Talladega, but “Performance Wise” he’s typically pretty competitive.
Talladega Track History – As you read above, Alex Bowman has typically been a hero or zero in recent races. This spring, Bowman ran well throughout the race. In the event he finished 9th in Stage #1, 5th in Stage #2, finished 9th overall and had a 14th place average running position. In 2021, nobody had a worse year than Bowman at Dega and he had a pair of 38th’s. Last fall, Bowman looked strong, but crashed while battling for the lead on lap 98 after getting a bad bump from Stenhouse that led to his demise. In Stage #1, Bowman finished 10th. In spring 2021, Bowman showed potential, but he came home a clunker 38th. In the race he finished 7th in Stage #1, but then on the last lap of Stage #2 he crashed while running in the top ten which led to his poor result. In fall 2020, Bowman had a solid race and finished 14th. In spring 2020, Bowman finished 2nd in Stage #1, led 12 laps, had an 11.5 average running position and finished 7th when the checkered flag waved. With 4 laps to go he was running in 7th, and he even pitted at the end, but he still charged up to his good result.
