Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Homestead (2021)
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin had a stellar car last year at Homestead and was a top five contender but he finished an asterisk mark 11th. In the race, Hamlin started in the rear of the field, finished just outside the top ten in Stage #1, finished 2nd in Stage #2 but then in the final Stage while running in 4th, Hamlin was caught speeding on pit road.
Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski was a top ten performer last year at Homestead, but Penske gambled with pit strategy in the final Stage, and no caution ever came out which led to his misleading 16th. In the race, Keselowski finished 2nd in Stage #1, 10th in Stage #2, led 47 laps and had an 8.1 average running position. Prior to his failed pit strategy play he was running in 7th.
Cole Custer – Cole Custer legitimately had a flat tire last year at Homestead in the closing laps which led to his 23rd. With 2 laps to go he was running in 8th, but then he had a sudden flat which dropkicked him in the running order. Custer’s average running position for the afternoon was 13.8.
