Group A Practice Notes
Ryan Blaney – 8 minutes into practice, Ryan Blaney jumped to the top of the leaderboard. Blaney appears to have a pretty good car this weekend. Blaney had the best 5,10,15 and 20 lap averages between both groups. Blaney said his car was pretty good. He feels like they adjusted well for the new tire.
William Byron – The #24 was fast. Five minutes into practice while he was 6th, Byron said he’s just a little tight center, mainly in turns 3 and 4. Following a late run, Byron said he’s a little on the loose side as the run goes on with the rubber build up.
Chase Elliott – A couple of minutes into Group A, Chase Elliott jumped up to 1st on his 12th lap. Elliott had the 4th best 25-lap average. The #9 looks strong this weekend.
Brad Keselowski – Keselowski started with a 6-lap short run and then came in for his team to work on making adjustments for him to be better on entry. Brad Keselowski seemed optimistic about his car in an interview.
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson unloaded fast and was at the top of the leaderboard early in Group A. Larson had the best 30-lap average between both groups.
