Notable: On lap 3, Chase Briscoe who was in running in 14th had a minor off-road excursion. Later on lap 5, he reported that his shifter wasn’t working perfectly.

Big: On lap 18 during the restart for Stage #2 in turn #1, Daniel Suarez spun and had a cut tire. He was running around 20th. Suarez then limped to pit road. Somehow, Suarez remained on the lead lap.
Notable: A little later on lap 18, Kyle Larson was spun which dropped him to the back.

Notable: On lap 20 it was mentioned that Michael McDowell got penalized for short cutting the track. McDowell was running around the mid-teens at the time. It dropped him back to the 30’s.
