Martinsville NASCAR Practice Notes
Group A Practice Notes
General Note: The track was naturally faster for group #1 drivers.
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott who’s returning to action has no brace or cast on this weekend. Josh Berry will be on standby duty on Sunday, but it’s not thought he would be needed. Chase Elliott had pretty good speed in practice and ran competitive lap times. Elliott wanted better forward drive. Elliott had no health complaints in practice. Elliott had the 6th best 15-lap average among Group A drivers.
Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick had good speed in practice. Midway thru, Harvick had what appears to be the fastest lap #22 among Group A Drivers. In group #1, I would say he had what looked to be the best long run car. Harvick had the best 20,25 and 30 lap average ranking in group #1.
Tyler Reddick – The #45 unloaded fast and Reddick was at the top of the speed chart. Clint Bowyer was impressed with the #45. Reddick had good speed over a run. Reddick ran 53 laps. Reddick ranked #1 for 5,10 and 15 lap averages among Group A Drivers. For 20,25 and 30 lap averages he ranked #2 among Group A Drivers.
Kyle Busch – The #8 had good speed in practice over the course of a run. Busch reported that his car has good center turn and roll center is good but he’s struggling on entry to turn 3.
