Aric Almirola who started in 4th led the opening two laps.
On lap 3, Ross Chastain took the lead and then led the next 3 laps.
Notable drivers who decided to drop to the back of the pack early: Martin Truex Jr., Brad Keselowski and Michael McDowell
Notable: On lap 8, Ty Dillon lost his right side window which brought out a debris caution. Dillon never lost a lap, and it got fixed quickly under caution.
During the first caution, Daniel Suarez reported to his team that he liked his ride quality. Suarez was running in the top five at the time.

Big: On lap 24 a “Big One” ensued. Drivers involved were the 2,21,22,23,31,47,48 and 62. The crash marked the end of the race for Harrison Burton and Ty Gibbs. Everyone else was able to continue.

Around lap 98, green flag pit stops started.
Notable: On lap 99, Christopher Bell spun on entrance to pit road. It led to a four-tire pit stop which was bad since other drivers who pitted with him didn’t do that. Bell was also caught speeding at this time. He locked up his brakes.
Notable: Tyler Reddick was said to be missing 4th gear during his green flag pit stop on lap 103.
