Group A Practice Notes
Josh Berry – Josh Berry is piloting the #48 for at least the next three weeks as Alex Bowman recovers from injury following a Sprint car crash. Berry had the best 10-lap average and the 3rd best 5-lap average. Berry said he had a really good practice.
Austin Dillon – Right when practice started, Austin Dillon wrecked. He’ll be starting in the rear of the field in a backup car. His car broke free in the turn.
Daniel Suarez – Daniel Suarez went for a spin in turn 3-4 right when practice restarted following Dillon’s wreck. Suarez didn’t hit anything. The #99 was said to be bottoming out in the turns.
Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski did a run at the midpoint of practice which jumped him up to #1 overall. Keselowski had the 5th best 5-lap average.
Joey Logano – Clint Bowyer said it looked like Logano wasn’t happy with his car. Late in practice he said, “Something’s wrong. May have a tire flat or something.” Logano’s tire was shown between the two groups, and it didn’t look good. His right front tire was corded. Logano wasn’t happy with his car.
