Group A Practice Drivers
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin has good long run speed and was fast on the stopwatch. Hamlin was said to not have a lot speed drop-off over a long run. Hamlin had the best 10,15,20 and 25 lap averages. Clint Bowyer really liked his speed.
Brad Keselowski – Eight minutes into practice, Keselowski was shown to be on pit road with some sort of tire issue after just 7 laps. Keselowski said he had a lot of concern regarding his tire issue in an interview.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano appears to have shown up with speed this weekend and he had the fastest overall speed in practice. Logano had the best 5-lap average. Joey Logano seems optimistic this weekend.
William Byron – Early in Group A while he was 3rd, Byron reported he was a “Little bit too loose into (turn) 1.” Bryon said he learned what not to do, but later when he ran a different line, he was better. He felt like he has good pace. He said, “so far so good.”
Tyler Reddick – The #8 appears to have pretty good speed this weekend. Reddick was said to be happy with his car. Reddick ranked 3rd for 10 and 15 Lap averages.
