It feels a little edgy right now.” Between both groups, Larson ranked #1 for 5 and 10 lap averages.
Michael McDowell – Michael McDowell unloaded fast and had a great opening lap. McDowell had the 3rd best 5-lap average. Michael McDowell was said to be really happy with his car. McDowell was wanting some more rear security.
Martin Truex Jr. – The #19 was looking strong in practice. Ten minutes into practice, Truex had the 3rd best 5-lap average (ended up 5th between both groups). Martin Truex Jr. really liked his car. “It feels like we can make it better, it’s got good speed, that’s encouraging. Speed is No. 1, comfort is second.” Truex said his car is close, a lot closer than last year.
