Nashville NASCAR Practice Notes
Ross Chastain – Ross Chastain showed good speed throughout the practice session. During a later run in the second half of practice, Chastain posted the best 15 and 20-lap averages.
Kyle Larson – Early in practice the #5 was secure on entry but tight overall. Late in practice, Larson showed a lot more speed and jumped up on the speed charts. Larson’s last run had him record the 4th best 15 and 20 lap averages, and the best 25-lap average (only 4 cars).
William Byron – The #24 team really wanted to focus on putting together a long run to really feel out their car. The #24 was quick and Byron had the 3rd best 15 and 20-lap averages.
Martin Truex Jr. – The #19 had great speed in practice and looked strong. 15 minutes into practice, Truex had the best 15 and 20 lap averages. Truex ended practice with the 3rd best 10-lap average and the 5th best 20-lap average.
Denny Hamlin – The #11 was strong in practice. During Hamlin’s second run, he temporarily jumped up to #1 on the speed chart. Hamlin ended practice with the 6th best 10-lap average.
