Asterisk Mark Report – New Hampshire 2022
Aric Almirola – Aric Almirola was a top ten contender last year at New Hampshire but he finished an asterisk mark 31st after only having 3rd gear from the midpoint until the conclusion. In the race, Almirola started 7th, finished 8th in Stage #1, was in 10th on lap 130 but then after that I think his issue really started. Over the first segment of the race when there’s no question about his engine, Almirola ranked as being the 8th fastest.
Alex Bowman – How good was Alex Bowman last year at New Hampshire? I can’t say I know. Bowman qualified 27th, completed 4 laps and then crashed well back in traffic which marked the end of his race and led to his 35th.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano was a top ten contender last year at New Hampshire but he finished an asterisk mark 24th. In the race, Logano started 12th, finished 4th in Stage #2, led 25 laps, had a 6th place average running position, had the 8th best Total Speed Ranking but with 4 to go while running in 7th, he came to pit road for a splash and go.
