Ty Gibbs made his series debut driving the #45 in place of Kurt Busch. Gibbs started in the rear of the field in a backup car.
Ross Chastain, William Byron, Justin Haley and Erik Jones started in the rear of the field due to unapproved adjustments.

Pocono Race Notes
Denny Hamlin who won the pole selected to start in the outside lane. On lap 1 in turn 1, Hamlin was shown to have slapped the wall. He fell back a few positions.
Kyle Busch who started in 2nd led the opening 12 laps.

Big: On lap 7 while running around 17th, Austin Cindric spun and hit the inside wall. The #2 was “Crab walking” now. This dropped him 5 laps down.
Mixed pit strategy took place during the Cindric caution. Essentially all the front runners stayed out and about the bottom third of the field came in. Logano pitted from 15th, which I believe had him be the first front runner who came in.
During the restart on lap 13, leader Kyle Busch went way up the track in turn #1 and lost several positions. It dropped Busch back to about 7th.

On lap 27, lots of cars ducked down pit road as an end of Stage pit strategy (Eight cars).
Big: On lap 27, Aric Almirola spun off turn #1 and had a flat tire. This brought out a caution. This dropped Almirola a lap down.
