Pocono Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Bubba Wallace
Pocono Fantasy Spin – At Pocono, put Bubba Wallace on your fantasy NASCAR radar. Wallace has run great here in recent races, and you also have to like the #23’s current level of performance. At Pocono over the last three races, Wallace has a 9.0 average finish and a 12.3 average running position. On Sunday, look for Wallace to potentially be a top ten contender.
Pocono Track History –Bubba Wallace has run great at Pocono and in 23XI equipment over the last three years his 9.0 average finish is tied for being the 6th best. Last year, Wallace had a strong showing. In the race he finished 8th, had a 12.3 average running position and had the 12th best Total Speed Ranking. In 2021 #2, Wallace had his best race at Pocono and in the event, he finished 5th and had an 11.7 average running position. When it was “Closing time”, Wallace consistently ran in the top quarter of the field and had enough fuel to go the distance. In the Saturday 2021 race, Wallace finished 14th and had the 11th best Total Speed Ranking.
Daniel Suarez
Pocono Fantasy Spin – At Pocono, look for Daniel Suarez to run well and have a solid showing. “Performance Wise”, I think he’s a teens driver, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he sneaks in a top ten. Suarez finished 3rd last year, and in 7 of his 11 starts he’s finished in the top 15.
Pocono Track History – Daniel Suarez has been solid at Pocono throughout his career. His overall average finish minus 2020 where he drove the junk #96 is 12.3, and over the last three his average finish is 10.3. Last year, Suarez had a great performance and ran well throughout the event. In the race, Suarez finished 3rd in Stage #1, 6th in Stage #2, had the 7th best Total Speed Ranking and then finished 3rd when the checkered flag waved. In 2021, Suarez finished in the teens both races. In 2021 #2, Suarez was a mid-teens performer. In the race he finished 15th and had a 15.2 average running position. In race #1 2021, Suarez finished 13th and had a 13.6 average running position.
Ty Gibbs
Pocono Fantasy Spin – Pocono will mark the 1-year anniversary of Ty Gibbs Cup debut. Last year, Kurt Busch got injured in qualifying, and then Gibbs got the call up that evening. I would say it was a successful debut given all the circumstances and he finished 16th when the checkered flag waved. To begin his “Sophomore Year”, I’m going to view him as a low double-digit to mid-teens driver on Sunday.
Pocono Track History – Last year at Pocono in his Cup track debut in the #45, Ty Gibbs started in the rear of the field, finished 16th, had the 30th best Total Speed Ranking and had the 30th best Green Flag Speed. It was a solid showing for a driver who had less than 24 hour’s notice, never driven a Cup car before and was literally doing sim work in the middle of the night. In the Xfinity series at Pocono, Ty Gibbs has back-to-back 2nd’s.
