Group A Driver Practice Notes

General Practice Note: Group A was generally slower than Group B due to track conditions.

Bubba Wallace – The #23 was fast off the Truck and on his 2nd lap, Wallace jumped to the top of the speed chart. Wallace had the 5th best 5-lap average in Group A. Wallace ended Group A, 3rd overall.

Denny Hamlin – The #11 has good speed. In Group A, Hamlin had the 2nd best 5-lap average and the best 10-lap average. Hamlin likely likes his car since he did a 10-lap run, and not many drivers did that. Hamlin ended Group A practice #1 overall.

Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney had the best 5-lap average in Group A. Blaney ended practice 2nd overall. Blaney had a loose moment early in Group A.

Joey Logano – The #22 was solid on the stopwatch. Logano had the 4th best 5-lap average in Group A.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was one of just two drivers who did a 10-lap run in Group A practice. His 5-lap average ranked as the 6th best in the Group.
