The Low Tier – Darlington
JJ Yeley – JJ Yeley is a low-tier guy who seems to always have a knack for finishing better than expected, and with attrition/mayhem that will occur on Saturday night, I think he’s a mid to high-twenties driver. Since Talladega in the spring, he’s only finished south of the 20’s once and has a 22.3 average finish. Last fall at Darlington in his most recent race, Yeley DNF’ed due to an exhaust issue. In spring 2022, Yeley finished 23rd.
Ryan Newman – At Darlington, Ryan Newman’s returning to action piloting the #51 Rick Ware Racing entry. This spring, Newman was a high-twenties performer but on lap 276 he spun into the wall which ushered in late chaos for the field and it led to his 28th.
BJ McLeod – At Darlington, pencil in BJ McLeod for a high-twenties to low-thirties finish and call it good. Over his last five Darlington races, he’s 5 for 5 at finishing between 27th to 32nd. This spring, McLeod had a short race and finished 32nd due to “Steering.”
