Group A Practice Notes
William Byron – 5 minutes into practice while he was 2nd overall, Byron came to pit road thinking he may have an issue. Byron was on pit road for an extended period of time. It was an upper control arm issue. Byron said he felt good about his car and had good pace prior to his problem. Byron had the 3rd best 5-lap average in Group A. Byron will KEEP his starting position.
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick unloaded fast and set quick lap times early. Reddick had the best 5 and 10 lap averages in Group A.
Martin Truex Jr. – Jeff Burton really liked Truex’s long run speed.
Bubba Wallace – The #23 had really good speed in practice. Bubba Wallace said he’s fine tuning and his car had a lot of speed.
Chase Elliott – The #9 had pretty good speed. 13 minutes into practice while he was 8th overall and had the 5th best 10-lap average in Group A, Eliott reported that his car is free.
