Group A Driver Notes
William Byron – 5 minutes into Group A while he was 5th, William Byron reported that he’s a little tight everywhere. Following his first run after changes were made, Byron said the changes were good for the most part, but he needs more security in the rear end of the car. The #24 was said to have a lot of speed. Jeff Burton liked his long run speed. At the end of practice, Byron reported that he’s tight. Byron had he 4th best 5-lap average between the two Groups. Byron never did a 10-lap run.
Christopher Bell – Despite being 12th in Group A, Christopher Bell was reported to have good race pace. Bell spun with about 5 minutes remaining. He didn’t hit anything.
Michael McDowell – Michael McDowell unloaded fast and ran quick lap times early in the session. McDowell said he got tow during his quick lap. McDowell said he was happy with the speed he unloaded with.
AJ Allmendinger – AJ Allmendinger was reported to have good pace. Allmendinger had the best 5 and 10 lap averages in Group A.
Kyle Busch – The #8 was pretty fast on the stopwatch. Busch had the 5th best 10-lap average and the 3rd best 15-lap average.
