Aric Almirola who started in 2nd in the outside row led the opening 6 laps.
Big: On lap 2 while running in 18th, Michael McDowell slid into the wall and then spun which brought out the first caution. McDowell told his team something broke. It dropped McDowell off the lead lap.
On lap 8, Bubba Wallace took the lead. Wallace then led the next 23 laps.

On lap 35, the opening round of green flag pit stops started and Toyota’s were the first to come to pit road.
Big: On lap 35 coming to pit road, Tyler Reddick spun and hit the wall on pit road. The #45 had some damage. Reddick was running in 12th before coming to pit road. Reddick remained on the lead lap.
Big: On lap 42 on entrance to pit road, Chase Briscoe spun. Something broke on the #14 and he was stuck on pit road which brought out the first caution. Something was broke, but the #14 team repaired it.
