The Low Tier / Non-Cup Regulars – Talladega
Chandler Smith – At Talladega, Chandler Smith will be driving a third Kaulig Racing entry in the form of the #13. In 2023 on the Cup level, Smith is 2 for 2 at finishing in the teens (16th place average finish) and at Daytona in July he finished 15th. In the Xfinity series at Talladega, Smith is 2 for 2 at getting accident DNF’s and has results of 25th (2023) and 38th (2022).
Riley Herbst – At Talladega, Riley Herbst will be driving the #36, a third Front Row Motorsports entry. This season, Herbst has competed in all three big superspeedway races with his results getting steadily worse. His three finishes are 10th (Daytona 500), 20th (Talladega) and 38th (Daytona #2).
Yeley – At Talladega, JJ Yeley finished 11th this spring but take note over his next six starts he’s finished 25th or worse. At Daytona in August, Yeley finished 19th.
Brennan Poole – At Talladega, the #15 Rick Ware Racing team is wheeling out Brennan Poole to compete. Poole last competed on the Cup level at Dega in 2020 and that year he finished 9th in the fall and then 35th in the spring.
BJ McLeod – At Talladega, BJ McLeod’s strategy will be to hang back and root for attrition. This spring, McLeod netted his best ever Talladega result and finished 18th. Over his last five Talladega races, McLeod has a 26.4 average finish.
