Charlotte Roval Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Austin Dillon
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Spin – At the Charlotte Roval, I can’t say I like Austin Dillon. The #3 team can’t execute a race right now and since Watkins Glen his average finish is 29.1. In recent seasons, I think Austin Dillon has been improving as a road course racer and he often flirts with a mid-teens or better finish but in 2023 on this track type, Dillon has a best finish of 16th and over the five races his average finish is 27th, with him finding major problems in 3 of the 5 races. In terms of Total Speed Ranking this season at road courses, Dillon ranks 15th, with him ranking between 11th to 16th in 4 of the 5 races in terms of speed.
Charlotte Roval Track History –Austin Dillon has finished better in each new Roval race, so there’s that for those looking for “Hopium.” Last year, Dillon had a legit solid showing and finished 10th. Additionally, Dillon ranked 7th for Speed Late In A Run and 9th for Total Speed Rankings. In 2021, Dillon finished 15th, had an 8.6 average running position and had the 5th best Total Speed Ranking. I’ll note with 14 to go he was running in 9th, but late cautions dropped him back some. In the two races prior to that, Dillon had results of 19th and 23rd.
Ryan Preece
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Spin – At the Charlotte Roval, I think Ryan Preece is a high-teens to low-twenties driver. That matches up with his track record, and with how he’s largely performed at road courses in 2023. This year at road courses over all the combined races, Preece has the 17th best Track Type Total Speed Ranking and in 3 of the last 4 he’s finished between 13th to 17th.
Charlotte Roval Track History – At the Charlotte Roval, Ryan Preece has an 18.0 average finish over his three combined starts. In 2021 when he most recently raced here, Preece finished 19th and had a 24.2 average running position. In his two starts prior to that, Preece had finishes of 14th and 21st.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Spin – At the Charlotte Roval, pencil in Ricky Stenhouse Jr. for a high-teens to low-twenties finish. Over the last four races at the Roval, Stenhouse is 4 for 4 at finishing between 17th to 21st (18.5), and that’s a trend I can believe in. This year at road courses, Stenhouse has finishes all across the board but for the season minus Chicago, Stenhouse has a 14.3 average finish and the 18th best Total Speed Ranking.
Charlotte Roval Track History – As you read above, Stenhouse is 4 for 4 at finishing between 17th to 21st (18.5 average finish) over the last four Charlotte Roval races. Last year at the Roval, Stenhouse finished 19th, but I can’t say he was that good. In the race, Stenhouse was in 26th on lap 103 before late chaos broke out, had a 26.3 average running position and ranked 31st for Total Speed Rankings. In the three races prior to that, Stenhouse had Roval results of 21st, 17th and 17th.
