Group A Driver Practice Notes

Chase Elliott – Midway thru Group A, Chase Elliott had a tire go down and got into the wall hard. Elliott will start in the rear of the field in a backup car. The #9 was fast on the stopwatch. Elliott had the 3rd best 10-lap average, the 4th best 5-lap average and the best 15-lap average in Group A. Elliott said he cut a tire in an interview. Elliott said he liked how his car was driving.

Tyler Reddick – The #45 unloaded fast and Reddick had great speed. Reddick had the 2nd best 5 and 10 lap averages in Group A. Reddick said his car is fast but it’s on the edge of control.

Kyle Larson – The #5 was fast. Larson had the best 5 and 10 lap averages in the Group. Larson felt like he had a tire going down mid-way thru Group A, right after that Chase Elliott had a tire go down and got into the wall hard. Larson was said to be happy with his car and said it was good.

Martin Truex Jr. – The #19 was showing speed in practice. Five minutes into the session he was 4th in Group A. His 5-lap average in the Group was the 5th best. Truex said his car felt good in practice.

Carson Hocevar – Hocevar was fast in practice. 5-minutes into Group A he was 3rd overall. His 5-lap average in Group A ranked as the 14th best in the Group.
