The Low Tier – Martinsville
Ryan Newman – Ryan Newman is returning to action at Martinsville and on Sunday, pencil him in for a high-twenties finish. In 2023 minus Bristol, Newman’s finished between 26th to 30th every race and has a 28th place average finish. Look for more of the same on Sunday.
JJ Yeley – At Martinsville, I don’t see any upside with JJ Yeley. Yeley use to be a quality pick for a driver of the low-tier but things have really gone south recently and in the Playoffs his average finish is 31.4. This spring at Martinsville, Yeley crashed and finished 36th. That said, he was running in 35th before crashing. Last year at Martinsville, Yeley had results of 31st and 34th.
BJ McLeod – If you pick BJ McLeod, you’ll be picking the least competitive car on the track. This spring, McLeod didn’t race here and in his place, Anthony Alfredo finished 35th and had a 35.2 average running position. In 2022 when he last raced here, McLeod had results of 35th and 36th.
