Asterisk Mark Report – Phoenix #1 2023

Kevin Harvick – This spring at Phoenix, Kevin Harvick finished 5th but you can bring out an asterisk mark for that result. Kevin Harvick had the race all but won until Harrison Burton spun which brought out the late caution/chaos.

Denny Hamlin – This spring at Phoenix, Denny Hamlin was a top ten contender but finished an asterisk mark 23rd. In the race, Hamlin started 2nd, finished 4th in Stage #1, 6th in Stage #2, had a 5.8 average running position and looked poised to finish in 9th, with 17 to go before late cautions/mayhem ensued. During overtime while running in 6th, Hamlin had a “You’re Coming With Me Moment” with Ross Chastain which torpedoed his afternoon in the results column.

Brad Keselowski – This spring at Phoenix, Brad Keselowski finished 18th but that’s an extremely misleading finish. In the race, Keselowski finished 9th in Stage #1, finished 4th in Stage #2, had a 6.3 average running position and was running in 7th with 14 to go, before late cautions/chaos broke out. Keselowski had a horrendous restart right at the end.
