The Low Tier – Phoenix
Ryan Newman – At Phoenix, pencil in Ryan Newman for about a high-twenties finish in the #51. In 6 of his last 7 races this year, Newman’s finished between 26th to 30th, and I would expect more of the same in the season finale. At the two shorter-flat tracks he’s competed at this year, Newman has results of 29th (Richmond) and 30th (New Hampshire).
JJ Yeley – At Phoenix, I can’t say I see any upside with JJ Yeley, even as a super low tier driver. Yeley’s results have taken a nosedive and in the Playoffs over his 8 races, Yeley has a 32nd place average finish.
MJ McLeod – At Phoenix, pencil in BJ McLeod as about a 30th place driver and call it good. He won’t outrun anybody but he’ll beat a few who succumb to attrition. This spring at Phoenix, McLeod finished last due to fuel pump issues. Last year, McLeod’s finishes were 31st and 33rd.
