Kyle Busch who started on the pole selected to start in the outside lane. Busch led the opening 22 laps.

Big: During the competition caution while leading, Kyle Busch got a speeding penalty.
On lap 27 during the restart, William Byron took the lead and then led the next 59 laps.
Big: On lap 28, while running in 31st, Noah Gragson hit the outside wall, spun and then hit the inside wall.

Big: On lap 35 a multi-car accident ensued. Drivers collected were Daniel Suarez, Ty Dillon and BJ McLeod. Suarez who was running in 9th got into wall and then Dillon and McLeod wrecked independently well back in the pack. This marked the end of the race for Suarez and Dillon. Kyle Busch also got some nose damage while he was back in the pack at this time. In a post DNF interview, Suarez mentioned that he thought he perhaps had a tire going down.

Big: On lap 81, Ross Chastain got into the back of the lapped #15 and then it slid up the track and hit Kyle Larson. Larson started 18th and was up to 5th at the time.
Bubba Wallace got the free pass during the Larson caution.
Kyle Busch didn’t pit during the Larson caution and got the lead. Take note, his car was damaged.

Midway thru Stage #2, the #22 of Joey Logano just dropped off. He was in 10th on lap 151 and then on lap 177 he was now a lap down in 22nd. Logano was later said to have corded a tire. In practice, Logano also corded a tire.
Big: On lap 190, Chase Briscoe was on pit road and was said to be way off pace. He got into the wall pretty hard just prior to that and supposedly knocked out his toe.
Around lap 190, green flag pit stops started in Stage #2.
