Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Talladega #2023
Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski might’ve had one of the best cars last fall at Talladega but he finished an asterisk mark 32nd. In the race, Keselowski led 5 laps, drove up to the front and won Stage #2 but then in the last Stage while he was mid-pack, he gave Carson Hocevar a bad bump and was then collected in the carnage himself, dooming him to a poor finish.
Carson Hocevar – As you read above, Carson Hocevar was a “Brad K Bump Draft Victim” last fall and it led to his 35th. Hocevar never really showed any muscle other than looking like a 20’s performer.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano was absolutely one of the best last fall and his 24th doesn’t do him any justice. In the race, Logano finished 8th in Stage #1, finished 3rd in Stage #2, led the most laps (48), was in 8th with 14 to go, in 12th with 6 to go but then he just made bad lane decisions or something late which led to his poor result.
Kyle Busch – Last fall, Busch finished 25th but you can disregard that result. Closing out Stage #1 while running near the top five, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. sputtered on fuel in front of him, Busch then ran into the back of the #47 and then Ross Chastain got into him. Busch was able to continue but the front of the #8 was damaged and he was never as competitive after that. On lap 60 which is the very lap he got damaged; Busch was in 4th.
