Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Dover 2023
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson had a rocket last year at Dover and clearly looked like a top five plus performer but his race wasn’t incident free, and he finished an asterisk mark 32nd. In the race, Larson started 18th and raced his way up to 5th on lap 80, but then Ross Chastain spun the lapped #15 and Kyle Larson then nailed him which doomed his afternoon.
Daniel Suarez – How good was Daniel Suarez last year at Dover? Suarez had a short race, but he did show potential prior to his demise so you can completely disregard his 35th. In the race, Suarez started 15th, was up to 9th on lap 32 but then on lap 35 he got into the wall hard which marked the end of his race. In a post-DNF interview, Suarez said he had a tire go down.
Noah Gragson – Last year, Noah Gragson had a short race that I wouldn’t read into. On lap 28 while running in 31st, Gragson hit the outside wall, spun and then hit the inside wall which doomed him to a 34th.
Ty Gibbs – Ty Gibbs finished 13th last spring but take note he was marginally better than his result. Prior to the last caution coming out, Gibbs was poised to finish around 8th. Shortly before that, Gibbs ran as high as 4th.
