Group A Driver Notes
William Byron – The #24 unloaded fast and had great speed. Bowyer really liked Byron’s takeoff speed. In Group A, Byron had the best 5,10 and 15 lap averages. Byron corded a tire late in practice which cut his session short. Byron said his car feels good and he didn’t seem concerned about the tire cording due to the track conditions.

Noah Gragson – Noah Gragson had a pretty solid session on the stopwatch. Gragson had the 5th best 10-lap average in Group A. Gragson was the only driver who did a 20-lap run. Gragson said his car drove good during an interview. Gragson felt like his car was good over a long run.
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin’s interior cockpit wasn’t to his liking right when practice started but he thinks it will be fine for tomorrow. Hamlin had pretty good speed and had the 2nd best 10-lap average in the Group. Hamlin was said to not be worried about tires.
Brad Keselowski – Keselowski said his car was fast and he seems pretty happy. His tires looked pretty good.
Corey Heim – Corey Heim is driving the #43 this week in place of Erik Jones. Heim said he never sat in a Cup car until practice started. Matt Kenseth thinks he’ll do a good job. Heim said he was trying to find his limit in practice, and he learned a lot in 20-minutes. His 10-lap average ranked as the 12th best between both Groups.
